Cheetah

Cheetahs are daylight hunters that neither stalk nor ambush their prey, as these big Kats are the fastest of any land animal, and will simply chase them to bring them down. They are capable of speeds of up to 60 miles per hour, although they can only maintain this speed this speed for 15 to 20 second bursts.  You must remember, however, that one quarter of a mile will be covered in that short amount of time. The cheetah will run alongside his prey and try to knock it off stride by hitting it in the hind legs or flanks with his own forelegs thrust out stiffly. This kind of blow is enough to send a small antelope staggering, whereupon the cheetah dispatches it with a bite to the throat.
The cheetah runs/leaps in 25 foot bounds that are beautiful to behold.
