I Cry at Night

In the dim light

I perceive
               A shadow.
I liken it to the
Darkness in
               My heart;
Weariness and pain
Bedfellows and
               I wonder,
Love?  I laugh aloud
And cry to hear the
               Truth strangled.
The scars I carry in
The name of Love
               Are deepest.
