"Step into my parlor", said the spider to the fly...

Nightmare: The Web

Verse 1
I am bound up tight:

Wrapped in silken strands
That don't let go,
My struggles to be free
Enmesh me further.
My eyes grow wide,
And my mouth opens
To scream.
But no sound emerges:
Mute; stoppered well
With the sticky web.
The bloated,
Many eyed demon
Races down the lines

Lust lit eyes
Glowing fiercely hot.

The stinking rot
Of possession
Drops in hissing globules
From gaping, hungry depths
Endless rows of razorsharp fangs.
All the Horrors of Hell
Contained in the grasping arms:
Drawing me
Helpless
Hopeless
To the Death promised
By the sinking fangs.

Verse 2
So little pain, really,

At the moment
When fangs finally pierce,
Slipping through the flushed skin,

Seeking out the veins
To send their poison
Into all of me:
My secret, hidden parts
My open, loving parts
My dreams
My hopes
My fears
My future
All are awash
In the bitter blackness.
My life slips away,
The last spark of light
That once danced
In my eyes
Winks out
And my un-uttered
Screams
Hang silent
In the night.
