The Play

'Twas a memorable night,
And you did the inviting!
It all seemed so right,
And thus quite exciting.

The play was fantastic,
And the company pleased me.
"Twas a night full of magic-
It made me so happy!

I mean you no harm;
I never would hurt you!
But I bask in your charm
Why is that wrong to do?

So why did you destroy
These, my memories sweet?
Or turn personal joy
Into bitterest defeat?

It would have been kinder
To simply just slap me.
Your indifference hurts,
But my pain you'll not see.
