Slender animal with long dainty legs and a short, slightly tapered
tail. Reddish brown in color, the Caracal has a lynx-like head with narrow,
tufted, pointed ears. There are white markings around the eyes, and on
the throat, chin and belly. |
Habitat: Desert,
savannah, scrub, stony ground, and mountain ranges. |
Habits: Primarily
nocturnal. Mostly terrestrial, but is a good climber and jumper. |
Prey: Small
and large birds, rodents, small to medium size hoofed mammals. |
Distribution: Africa
and Asia. |
