Coat varies from chestnut to reddish, from fawn to gray-brown,
to dark gray. May be plain or spotted, with a dark line running down the tail.
Sturdily built, with a long tail. |
Habitat: High
mountain forests, along waterways. Requires much water. |
Habits: Nocturnal.
Hunts at dawn and dusk. Terrestrial. |
Prey: Small
mammals and rodents, monkeys, duikers, birds. |
Distribution: West
and Central Africa, Uganda, Ivory Coast. |
