Jungle Cat

head and body 24-30 inches, tail 9-12 inches, weight 16-30 pounds
A powerful cat with true cat characteristics. The coat is sandy-gray to tawny-red, with the kittens having distinct tabby markings that fade in adulthood to faint bands on the legs and a stripe down the tail. Both the tail and the ears have black tips.
Habitat: Woodlands, reed-beds, cornfields, and near human habitations.
Habits: Hunts both night and day. Mostly terrestrial, but is a good climber and jumper.
Prey: Hares, birds, porcupines, frogs, and snakes.
Distribution: North Africa and Asia.
