Kodkod

Felis (Oncifelis) guigna
head and body 18 inches, tail 8 inches, weight 4 1/2 pounds
Probably the smallest wild cat in the Western Hemisphere. The Kodkod is buff in color, with heavy, round black spots. The tail has black rings and the ears have black backs with white central spots.
Habitat: Forest.
Habits: Nocturnal. Terrestrial, but an excellent climber.
Prey: Small mammals, birds.
Distribution: South Chile, Patagonia.
