Coat ranges from creamy to yellow to reddish-gray, marked with
elongated spots that look like streaks and blotches. Mistaken for the Margay,
it has a shorter tail and is larger overall. |
Habitat: tropical
rainforests, mountain forests, thick bush, marshy areas and riverbanks. |
Habits: Nocturnal.
Hunts at dawn and dusk. Terrestrial. |
Prey: Small
mammals and rodents, fish, snakes and lizards, birds. |
Distribution: Texas,
Mexico, Central America, South America. |
