Snow Leopard

Panthera uncia
head and body 41 inches, tail 35 inches, weight 100-150 pounds
Often called the Ounce, this cat has a dense, smoke-gray, wooly coat. There is a yellow tinge on the flanks and pale yellow on the belly. Blurred rosettes cover the body, and there are round round black spots on the head.
Habitat: High mountains, above the tree line.
Habits: Hunts by day. Terrestrial.
Prey: Mammals up to the size of small deer,  large birds.
Distribution: Himalayas, Tibet, Kashmir.
