Temminck's Golden Cat

Felis (Profelis) temmincki
head and body 31-35 inches, tail 19-20 inches, weight 14-25 pounds
A beautiful golden colored cat only faintly marked in some subspecies, while leopard-spotted in others. Occasionally a color mutation occurs. There is a gray patch behind each short, round ear. From the ears to the crown of the head runs white lines bordered by black.
Habitat: Forests interspersed with rocky terrain.
Habits: Probably hunts by day. Mainly terrestrial.
Prey: Mammals up to the size of small deer, birds.
Distribution: Himalayas to Southeast Asia.
